Postcard Art Swap 2014

These are the five postcards
I made
in the
One Stamped Image
Post Card Swap

Each card came with one
stamped image on one side
and we were to create something with
the image…

Starting from the top left:
'Tree Hugger' started out as a winter tree stamped in purple ink.

'Curious Wonder-Filled' begin as a partial, broken circle, black ink.

'Polka Time Fun'  was a clock face stamped in muted grey-brown.

on the second row, starting on the left again:

'Costume Guild Encampment' was a brown stamped dress form.

'You Are Art' began with a mystical dragon fly woman in black ink.

This was a fun swap!
I'll post another blog with more detailed pictures in a few days.

Crocheted Pot Holder

Now this crocheted
hot pad would work
in my kitchen!

I'm far more gentle
with the pot holders!

Just Not Practical

I love these kitchen towels
in theory
but my kitchen towels get
abused far too often
to look this pretty!
I use 100% cotton flour sack towels
that can withstand regular bleaching.
These pretty towels would not last a month
in my kitchen, sadly.

Item 1 From Postcard Swap

Stamped Postcard Swap
Originally this postcard arrived
at my loft with just a purple, partially stamp
winter tree on it.
I've hand drawn every thing
in colour!
I've not completed this post card yet..
Text still needs to be added, but I wanted to
snap a quick pic so far.
Wish I would have snapped a 'before' pic.
Oh well.

She'll go out in post shortly!

Crochet Cosy Rainbow Centre

I just finished this project!
Yay!

I will be adding this item
to my cosy collection
that I'll be selling
at a local show next month!

I have many more items to finish
from now until then!

I really like the centre on this one!

Thread Crochet Project

Thread crochet project
that I just started...

for a friend!

Thread Crochet Thursday

I had started this project
some month ago
and became overwhelmed with it...

I used a steel crochet hook 1.15mm
for this project

And for the project on the right
I used a size steel hook 1.5mm
for a slightly larger version of
the same pattern

My favourite part of this work
is the center six point flower/star

All this work here has only used
chain, double and half-double crochet stitches.

but this pattern is tedious!

So, I gave up on this project a few months ago.

Pacific Blue

I miss summer days near the pacific ocean!
The 'rock beach' that was my favorite
place to find paintable surfaces

The sound of the waves upon the sand

The feel of the sand between my toes
just after the surf had been there.

I think I took for granted
the pacific ocean
while I lived so very close to it
a few years back.

Rollar Coaster Ride!

Sometimes
it is just
easier to resort
to silliness
and random
goofy pictures
when...

inside
the emotions are swelling up
and sadness is taking over!

Dog Days of Summer

My dachshund is so cute
I imagine she's thinking
"Hi human, do you have a treat for me?"

"No you say, ok I'm going back to sleep"

Oh the dog days of summer are upon us now!

Crepes Please!

Sometimes
fresh strawberries
paired with
dark chocolate freshly made crepes
is all that is needed!

Soft Cotton

Knitting a few more small swatches

I love this  super soft 100% cotton yarn!

I plan to make a few pocket type
bags with these swatches, once done.

Fetch...

Dachshunds are wonderful dogs!
However, I cannot imagine taking
this many out for a stroll
especially since I know
their temperament...

This really is the temperament of
the 2 dachshunds
I live with!
