Gearing Up for Change

The season has finally shifted
and spring 'like' weather has arrived
here in my region
(although I read just north of me
snow was falling)

With the 'shift' of season
so must my way of being change

This manifesto inspires me...

I've not really changed my hair style

Happy ThrowBack Thursday

Frustrations of the Heart

Sometimes the best solution
is just to sit and
be creative
even when you
are upset and sad...

Snip Snip

The last snips from
a total of 19 1/2 inches cut
this month!

And yet, it's still past my shoulders
a good 10 inches.

Gearing up for summer water time fun...

Triptych Card

Back to creating
Making a Triptych Card

Whenever possible
I prefer to use recycled
cardboards for pattern making

I'm making this a little smaller
than the pattern calls for.

Multi-tasking at my messy desk
So many things to catch up on
since I was away for a few days...

My clear ruler along with
my grey handled scissors
are my favourite tools
for everyday use.
Oh and my mechanical pencils and pink eraser.

Next I'll start to add papers
and embellish.

Corny Beef

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Today's meal is
can you guess?
Boiled potatoes, cabbage
and corned beef...

with soda bread of course!

I LOVE this meal
and seem to make it only
once a year.

Even though my eyes are green
I still like to wear it too.
Cheers

Home Sweet Art Loft

Back home!
What a wonderful
 road trip
I had.

Now I'm back at my desk
here in the loft
and creating once again.

And look at the
'welcome home'
surprise
I got from someone
who missed me…
I feel very special!

Food Focused

It's interesting that after ten weeks
at basic training
food was such an important quest!

Once again
food being the central quest

It does make sense that food would be
such a treat
after having a limited intake for ten weeks!

A last quick picture
before we all say good-bye
for another long 15 weeks apart.

My son and his lovely girlfriend.

On The Road

Once graduation ceremony was over
and all the traffic had cleared out
we set out south...

We drove past the entrance to Hilton field
for one last look...

The off to hotel for some much needed RR…
Next stop
Georgia
my son's next post for 15 weeks of schooling.

My Son's Graduation Day

With recent time change
our early arrival was before
the sun had risen

So many folks here early
to grab nice seats too

The bleacher structure is huge!

Good morning!
We are ready for the chilly weather
this time!
However the sun is warming us up nicely.

What a sight to see, hundreds of soldiers
in their dress uniforms.
Very impressive.

My son's Company was Foxtrot.
He was in the last platoon
so that means his group is the last
to march off the field, no worries
We can wait until they all exit the field.
My son in his dress uniform...

I'm extremely proud of my son!

Family Day

We didn't expect it to be
cold, wet and a little dreary...

But the weather isn't bothering me
because I get to see my son
in a little bit...
They marched out from
behind a huge cloud of smoke
I got all teary eyed from the sight
and then...

I found my son
seeing him for the first time
in ten weeks
so many emotions
my zoom lens
was tear filled after
this picture...

What a proud moment for him.
What a proud Mama I am!
He looks awesome.
Now to rush down to the field
and give him a huge hug.
We've been informed that PDA
is only allowed on the field…once off
the soldiers are to remain
PDA free.
