Art, Crochet and a little Knitting

I made a little ATC drawing
for a friend of mine.

And decorated the card.

And packaged up the ATC in this cellophane pocket.

The knitted scarf is done now.

I decided to whip up a pair of
fingerless crocheted gloves to match.
Using single crochet and slip stitches only.

Once I seamed up the sides,
I used a cardboard cracket
box for paper hands to
hold up the gloves.

Now it's all ready for wrapping and putting in
the box to be mailed!

Boxing Day

Hallo Friends!
Have you ever crocheted something,
without a pattern,
thinking that it looks ok, and will function great,
only to relise after it's done,
that it actually in aweful?

Well that's these two sweaters, yes TWO!
My poor dog is forced to wear them
during cold, rainy days!
She is not pleased with me!

Today, the day after Christmas,
I felt exhausted
and as if I'm coming down with
a touch of a cold...
So I snuggled up and kept warm and
ate soup and watched films this day.
Cheers~

A Cold & Sunny Winter's Day

Natasha having a relaxing sun bath on the roof top patio

Yes, I made this silly hat and I like it so much
I wear it!

Natasha doesn't like wearing her sweater...

She likes to sun naked!
'gosh human, I'm NOT naked, I'm wearing fur!'

Quick Crochet Project

Christmas Countdown

I'm making a few 'quick' pairs of finger-less gloves.

A really simple pattern using
only chain, single and double crochet stitches.

For my small hand I chain about 9 inches,
then I make a few rows of single crochet,
then I crochet two rows of double and
then back to single.
Once I am near the fullness I like,
I finish with two rows of single crochet,
and bind off with a long tail of yarn
for sewing the side seam up.
Remembering to leave a hole for
my thumb while stitching.

My latest read.

My latest painting project.

Warm Food

Christmas Countdown

I made a Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder the other day,
to warm me up and season the loft with
warm luscious scents.

Normally I'll top it with Avocado, flour chips and fresh cilantro/coriander
but my poor plant died a week ago :(
and there were not chips or Avo left.
 So I topped with
sour cream and taco flavoured
Doritios chips crushed.
It was pretty tasty.

For recipe:

1 TBLS Butter or Margarine
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked and chopped
(I also use the boneless/skinless strips from trader joe's,
It works really easy)
I either boil my chicken, or
microwave in a ceramic dish, with lid
drizzled with olive oil
dash salt/dash pepper
1 small onion, chopped. I omit this because I
cannot eat onion.
2 garlic cloves, pressed
2 cups half-and-half
2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese
2 (14 3/4 oz) cans cream style corn
1 (4.5 oz) can chopped green chilies, undrained
1/2 teas. Hot sauce
1/4 salt
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro or 1-2 teaspoon dried cilantro.

Melt butter in dutch oven over medium high heat:
add onion and garlic and saute 2 minutes. Stir in next 7 ingredients and
chicken; cook over low heart, stirring often, 15 minutes. Stir in Cilantro.

Makes 2 quarts

Happy crafting and cooking
Cheers~
