Fall Snacks

The apple selection at the local green grocers
inspired this delightful treat!

There were so many apples to choose from
and they had various
caramel yummies nearby!

Caramel is not just for apple :)

First Day of Autumn

Fall begins today, Yay!
I love autumn!

Pumpkin Spice Lattes arrive!
Seasonal vegetables make a grand entrance
on many cooking shows.

The leaves start to change colours.

Brach candy dishes will start to empty faster now.

Cranberries will make a wonderful addition
to most warm and hearty meals
I hope and plan to make this season.

Celebrations are had by many...

Warm soup and salad will be eaten a great deal more
during the cooler months.

Halloween is growing closer...

Now there will be a fine selection of
apples at the markets
to make carmel apples with!
I love fall!!!

A Sign that Fall is Near

Apples and pumpkins make an appearance in grocery stores!

Summer harvest begins

Apple picking starts!

Brach's Harvest mix starts showing up on the candy aisles!

Another, more celebratory sign that fall is drawing nearer...
halloween costumes start
to show up at the local Target store!
This wee character just happens to be my Grandson.

First Day of Fall

With today being the first day of fall,
I thought I would change out my decorations
around the loft.
I found this cute project HERE
and I hope to start creating these for my Grandson
sometime this weekend!

My crafting table is full of 'nearly finished' projects presently.
The hedgehogs and log needle books were
from a book I started earlier, from a sewing
club that I'm in.
The wee owl was just a 'practice' project.
Continuing with my 'Wiener Dog' series
I drew/cut out/and applied these dachshunds
to cotton and broad cloth yesterday.
This is the book, from my sewing club, that the hedgehogs
and trunk needle books are from.
The move out east left me with very few decorations
for fall, as I had culled out many of
my belongings prior to heading to Virginia.
I must create a few new ones this season.

Perhaps some bats, ghosts, crows and a few scarecrows!
Happy First Day of Fall Friends!

Crochet, Birthdays, Fall

Crocheted floppy witch hat. Perfect for fall weather

I've been so busy crocheting...

Floppy witch hat with wider brim and no leaves.

Another football beanie. I really like making these fun little quick projects

Spending time with my son who flew out to visit me and his sister for his 21st birthday.

It starts with just one leaf...

And fall has begun...
The cool weather inspires me to create baked goods.
I've been busy crocheting too...
Cold enough to have fire and relax in front of it!

A Tourist Kind of Day

Heading out on adventure this fine fall day...
I love all the trees and "fall feel" today!

Having just moved to Virginia, I wanted to learn of some of the local and state history.
Luckily, the Historical Museum is just 15 miles away.
So this afternoon I dodged the lighting, thunder and down pours so I could
visit Richmond's museums.

I'm in front of the Virginia Historical Society entrance.

First Fire For Fall

The weather changed so radically this past week.
Just on Monday and Tuesday we were ROASTING!
With temps around 90 degrees up until Wednesday afternoon, that's when the winds picked up.
To my absolute joy, cooler weather blew in.
As I type this the temp tonight has dipped down to 52 degrees!
Crispy coolness prompted us to use our fireplace for the first time since we moved here to
Virginia a little over two months ago.
I'm looking forward to winter this year :)

 New sweaters for the girls...

I don't think she likes her new sweater!

The Arrival of Fall Weather...finally!

So far, this is how many Granny Squares I've made, YTD. My daily challenge is still working!
What with having just moved to the east coast of Virginia, I've been very anxious for a 'change' in weather!
Living in paradise (not complaining) has it's advantages. However, I'm looking forward to the dramatic change of weather, that the east coast will offer!
I had started with fewer branches in previous picture. I like  the fuller look best.
One such occurrence has finally happened. Cooler weather; FALL.
So, I was so motivated to decorate my mantel yesterday.

Simple colour.
