Throw Back Thursday

A good while back
I shared this,
my vintage typewriter...

and that the keys had frozen
so I couldn't use it
anymore...

Well this wee lovely
has officially been dropped off
at the 'repair/restoration' shop.
Lovely couple in Charlottesville, VA
run this little shop.
The man who does the repair
was so wonderful and passionate
about typewriters
I spent the better part of an hour
chatting with them both.
I'm so excited and can hardly
wait until
my typewriter is restored!

Keeping It Simple: Crafts in the Loft

Keeping It Simple: Starbucks Sleeves

A good long while back
at the local Starbucks
I was having a warm beverage.
When done I realized the usefulness
of the cardboard sleeve
that was around my used up cup.
So I snagged it.

Upon the walls at this local Starbucks
were illustrations of trees
so I grabbed a ball point pen
out of my bag
and sketched it out on the sleeve.
Once home I applied a little gold leaf
in various tones
to the sleeve.
The end result
these two pictures.
Keeping it simple!

A Diamond in the Rough

There are times
when I need to just
allow beauty
 within myself to shine bright
even when the sun is blocked
 by negative shadows.
And other times
when I see beautiful things
to actually
allow myself to hope for them!
Far too often,
 over the past few years
I've denied myself the pleasure
of simple hopes and dreams.
Until now...

School

I love this art/cartoon by

I've been busy with homework,
feeling the pressure of
nearing the end of several years
of effort towards completing
another degree.
At times I feel like
I could use an escape too!
So glad I have my creative side to fall back on
especially when my pocket book reminds me
it has a limit.

Stress-A-Doodle

I'm working on my second ATC 
for swap I'm participating in.

I started the watercolour Babushka... 

However, I just wasn't 'feeling it' so I started to doodle...

and doodle...

and I did a bit more doodling...

and one last doodle.

Now I've got all these doodles but not one
completed ATC for my second project.
Doodling is what happens when I'm
stressed about 'life'
and my brain is working overtime
 trying to problem solve the 'life stress'
even when I try hard NOT to think about stuff, 
outside of creating…
I think it's best that I try again tomorrow.

Winter Snow Fall

Well the winter snow storm has
produced a fair amount of snow
for our area...

It's a small measurement compared
to states further up north
