Laid out to be later collected and packed away...

But for now, I celebrate having taking down
my Christmas tree on the last day of the
12 days of Christmas!

I just love all these delightful
and colourful pretties!
I don't want to put them away!

Diversion Into Creativity

Hallo friends.
I was avoiding doing something
all day!
In addition to actually
doing what I attempted to avoid,
I created and completed many
projects around the loft!

And though today was a very good day
for accomplishing many things,
this evening brought
broken hearted
issues, sadly.

And for now, I am sad and worried.
Very worried for loved ones.

And though I can see
the fruit of my
creative labour,
I'm not able to completely
enjoy the moment, fully.

Such are matters of the heart...

And very often, a simple change
of perspective may help matters.

Giving a sparkle in a dark time.

Holding fast to the ideals of love.

Braving through the sad moments
clinging on for...

May we all find our bliss!

Birdies

Hi friends,
I'm determined to get all crafts
and gifts made before Christmas
and it's approaching quickly.

I finished another batch of Birdies.
I will be loading pictures to my Etsy store
sometime later today...

Earlier in the week I had finished this batch of birdies.

So far all Birdies that I've completed this week.

A Bit More Holiday Painting

Hallo there, you wonderful blog friends.
I was surprised to find teal xmas tree beads
at Michael's craft store, discounted!
Happily surprised!

Adding a new colour to my Dangle Birdies family, purple.
I have a friend who LOVES all things purple.
So I wanted to make a birdie for her,
painted one and decided I really liked it!
So, painted a few more :)

Remember this?
It's the pretty orange pumpkin
from fall decor, now newly painted with
hot pink polka dots!
Just for winter holiday!

A few new Dangle Birdies.
Funny, with the flash on my camera
I can see the slight differences in
colour, for each of these.
I blend my colours, to create unique hues
for each new batch of birdies.

And speaking of batches...
My handsome hunny brought home
fresh blackberries, so in return
I made him a berry crumble for dessert.
This was so yummy and super simple to make.
Here's how...
You'll need these ingredients:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup oats
6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
4 cups mixed berries
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Equipment: 6 (6-ounce) ramekins
OR small baking dish (as pictured above)
Directions to follow in order:PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES F.
In large bowl combine flour, brown sugar, 1/4 cup sugar, cinnamon, salt and oats.
Using a pastry blender, a fork or your hands cut in butter.
Keep cold until ready to use.
In a large bowl combine berries, 1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch:
toss to coat.
Evenly divide the fruit mixture between the
6 ramekins (or baking dishes).
Top with crumble topping.
Bake until top is golden and fruit is bubbly,
about 35 minutes.

Woodworking Projects

Last minute posting.
I just realised I hadn't posted yet today
(Tuesday 11 December 2012)
and quickly snapped this pic tonight
and drats, I'm late! Already Wednesday...will have to
post in the morning, again. :/

Made this ATC earlier today, for my nephew.
We trade them, via the post since he's on west coast
and i'm on east coast.

Reminder that I need to finish the other two Santa and Cow
wooden decor.

Sawed these out this morning, and painted them this afternoon.

My craft table is messy 24/7 this time of year!
Busy, busy, busy!

The first few days of 2012 have been a delightfully busy time.

Despite the cold weather, I've been busy dreaming of Spring Time.

As is with my latest creation: Dangle Birdies.

I love the whimsy and carefree delight these wee birds represent.
