Hearty Art...

Happy Heart Month!
February is the month of hearts
and love!

I enjoy making many crafts
with a heart theme.

I make allot of
things with hearts...

Heart Art is so fun to make
and share with loved ones,
friends and sometimes
even strangers...

Nothing better than leaving
a wee heart behind you
at the cafe', library, or park...

Heart art to bring a smile
to someones day...

A small, simple reminders
that we are not alone and that
someone, even a stranger
wishes them well!

I hope to create
heart art allot
this month
and share it...

I cut these wee felt hearts
out a few days past,
didn't know what to do with them,
now I think I shall make a few
book marks
and randomly leave them
around my local library with
a wee note,
expressing a warm and friendly
greeting...

That was the hope, when I
hung these wee hearts at
the loft entrance...

Now I'm ever so inspired
to create many hearts to share.

I think this shall be
a 'hearty' weekend!
Cheers~

Woodworking Projects

Last minute posting.
I just realised I hadn't posted yet today

(Tuesday 11 December 2012)
and quickly snapped this pic tonight
and drats, I'm late! Already Wednesday...will have to
post in the morning, again. :/

Made this ATC earlier today, for my nephew.
We trade them, via the post since he's on west coast
and i'm on east coast.
'O Christmas Tree'

Reminder that I need to finish the other two Santa and Cow
wooden decor.

Sawed these out this morning, and painted them this afternoon.

My craft table is messy 24/7 this time of year!
Busy, busy, busy!

Hope you're having a happy pre-holiday season!
Cheers~

One Week Down

In the teens now!

I made this about sixteen years ago,
thought I'd make another this weekend.

Missing my grandson already...looking forward
to seeing him closer to Christmas Day.

Busy Hands

Rearranged and cut flowers for dinning table.

Glued and puttied leg of charity shop find!
This chair was only $5!

Baked lemon cake and sliced it up for easy
grab and go snack!

Baked some beer bread.

Crocheted a piece of toast, although in this picture
it reminds me of an owl.
I have to make an additional 29 more of these toasts/owls...

Crocheted a dozen granny squares for a public yarn
bombing that will take place in California, in March 2013.
I plan to make a total of 120 granny squares, in 12 square increments.

Sawed out a dozen birds, plus a few extra for gifts for holiday.
Sanded a few too. I have about 100 more to complete.

Put the girls in their t-shirts, brrrrr it's a chilly day today
not to mention their stares at me after putting them in their
t-shirts. They hate sweaters equally as much.
'but it's cold girls...'
It's a good night for chicken and dumplings.
Oh with a slice of warm beer bread too...

YUM!
This meal took only an hour to make from start to finish!
It's super easy too!
3 lbs boneless/skinless chicken (rinse & cut up)
Add 3 cups of water to large pot
add cut up chicken, salt, pepper, thyme, poultry seasoning.
Bring to boil over high heat.
Reduce heat to simmer once boils and cover
and cook on simmer for 25 minutes.
Cut up 1 1/2 cups carrots and 1/1/2 cups celery.
Add carrots and celery after done simmering for 25 minutes,
cover and cook for 10 minutes.
While veg cook, make dumplings
you can most drop biscuit recipes
OR use boxed bisquick...
2 cups bisquick, 2/3 cup milk.
set dough aside.
Once veg is done cooking for 10 minutes, uncover
and add dumplings by rolling up small portions of dough
and dropping them on top of chicken/veg mixture.
This should yield approximately 12 dumplings.
More if you make small balls, or fewer if you roll larger dough balls.
Cook another 10 minutes UNCOVERED, over simmer.
Once done,
Cook an additional 10 minutes COVERED.
Once done, serve and enjoy!
Total cooking time: 55 minutes.
Prep time: 10 minutes

Shopping List
3 lbs skinless/boneless chicken
1 bag of small serving carrots
1 stalk of celery
1 box of Bisquick
salt/pepper/thyme/poultry seasoning

Enjoy!

A few new projects in wood

Just today's doodle in colour
Since the move to loft,
I've been reluctant to do much wood working.
I was so happy to finally clear away the clutter in front of
my scroll saw, and get to cutting out a few new designs.
After sawing, I will need to sand and prep for painting.
