Getting ready to work on an upcoming swap I'm in |
Making tiny books to swap with an artist partner! So much fun!!! |
I found this WONDERFUL tutorial/blog/website on how to make fabric twine from scrap fabric and cannot wait to try it out! |
This manual typewriter is AWESOME! |
I traded for this typewriter with an 1910 vintage Underwood that needed WAY TOO much restoration work done, so cost was a huge issue. Instead I got this beauty! |
I was told (by the person I traded with) these typewriters are wonderful and frankly this little older man well he's very reliable for insight and information regarding typewriters! |
The vibe hit me like a wave and I said "YES" to trading and OH MY GOSH... |
this baby is WONDERFUL! The font is smaller than most of the other manual typewriters I own. In addition, there are lots of cool extra features. |
It came with original paperwork (1950's) two keys to lock the metal cover and new ribbons and newly overhauled, oiled and ready for use! |
Just a peak at the vintage books I have stored below... |
I have a note paper in the carriage presently, getting ready to type a thank-you card. |
I use my typewriters so much more now with this chair and table so easily accessible! |
Continuing with m theme: Typewriters… I wanted to share a wee post about this vintage table |
I had previously used this table for magazines and was frustrated that the wee space below was unused, until now... |
Continuing with the theme on typewriters I found this video about folks who, like myself still like using typewriters today! |
In this Basic Typing film from 1944 a brief history of the typewriter is shown which includes several machines which are housed in the Smithsonian. I also like the fashion flash back this film displays. A disturbing part of history is that typing and the employment of typists was centrally focused on women & girls. I was influenced by this cultural norm as a young girl. Perhaps this is why I love typewriters to this day! |
This is the second half of the Basic Typing Film Please share with other typewriter & typing enthusiasts! I'd also like to hear some of your earliest memories with typing and on what type machine? Thanks |
I own a few typewriters... |
and recently I realize that I've always liked typing |
In high school I took typing classes first on manual typewriters... |
and then advanced to electric typewriters |
I wasn't always the fasted typist but I really did like trying |
I owned an electric brother typewriter and sadly over the years after many moves it got lost |
For now I'm happy with my vintage manual typewriters! |
Typing in a shower just because they could... |
What almost looks like a glamor photo with a fancy typewriter |
I'm not certain why this typewriter is so huge but this picture simply cracks me up! |
This is a still shot of a short video dating back to 1959 of a typing contest |
This post is about typewriters and a movie named... |
It's a French film which was released in 2012 It's completely wonderful! |
If you haven't had a chance to view it check out Netflix it's on there! |
LOVE everything about this film! The vintage typewriters, cars, clothes! So much fun!! |
I found this on Pinterest and followed the link to Lil Blue Boo WOW! What a GREAT tutorial! |
Colorful markers are always lots of fun too! |
I love these water based colors because I can use them with crayons and they blend so well together |
I also use them as inexpensive water colors! YES, they can be used with water and paint brush! |
I recycle allot of plastic containers simply for my crafting use and the inside part of a plastic lid works great as a pallet for makers and water... |
Add a few drops of water and you have instant watercolors! |
I use them as highlighters too. But mostly I use them on the early stages of art work filling in color and shapes in my art journals and project books. |
You might think I have these crayons for my kids, but truth is they're my crayons!! |
I own several Crayola products |
I use them too... |
I enjoy using crayons for various reasons |
