Completed Knitted Headband

I'm really pleased with this finished project!
I so appreciate Christine Rosen's
iKnit blog and tutorials over on Youtube!

The project looked a bit daunting at first
the walk through tutorial
really helped me!

Crocheted flowers

I made this for my daughter.
Her birthday is coming up very soon!

I decided to use a contrasting colour
for the button.

Knitted Headband Pt 4

So, on my last post,
we increased
and rows 7, 8 continues in rib pattern....

Increase time.
Row 9
Remember to:

Row 10 will use a M1B

Rib Pattern...

After getting to 23 stitches,
I increased about 2 1/2 inches for sizing
and then started
on the decreasing.
However, I did not take pictures for
the decrease.
iKnit's blog
show every step of the decrease process

Knitted Headband Pt 3

Continuing on with row six
I wasn't sure on the best method
used to make M1F stitch.
iKnit's tutorial was good, and I played it several times
to make sure I was doing it right.
Finally I googled M1F
and found another source to show me how.
I did, however, go back to using the method
that Christine showed on her iKnit tutorial.

I don't know about you, but I simply must see
the stitches I'm suppose to be making.
So I wrote them out
in parentesis for each row of rib pattern.

I just feel more comfortable reading each row as I work it!
The pattern has it written out too.

It's increase time.
That means row 9 starts with a knit...

The increase stitch alternates
between knit and purl.
We started the increase last time with a knit stitch
and the used a purl stitch between the two knit stitches we increased first with.
We purl...

Knitted Headband Pt 2

Well, that pattern so far is very simple.
Mind you, I'm not an extremely experienced knitter.
I've knitted for years, but I've kept to simple stitches.

Knit, Purl and oh now we increase!!!
This is simple enough,
by pulling the two strands apart,
now knit with each single strand (twice only).

One stitch using strand one...

Second stitch using strand two...

Ta I purl, and finish with a knit stitch.

Row completed, now I'll have to put a purl
between those
two purl stitches.
You ask which stitches?
The two center ones...
Now I'll refer to Christine Rosen's pattern!

Knitted Headband Teaser

Supplies needed:
Yarn (I used Loops & Threads, Soft & Shiny)
Needles: size 10

Using 2 stands, cast on 5 stitches.

Row 1: Knit, Purl, Knit, Purl, knit

I promise you,
even if you are a beginner knitter,
this project can be done!
The tutorial and pattern
help make it not so daunting a task.
I'll post the progression of my work
in the next few blogs posts.
Though I've written down the pattern in my own hand writing
this IS NOT my pattern.
It was written by
Christine Rosen.

Knitted Headband

I was motivated to knit this
because my daughter
liked a few
similar looking ones
over on

I wasn't certain how to make this at first
so I clicked over on Youtube
to see if there were any video tutorials.
And there was @
What I really appreciated was that Christine Rosen
(the blogger/youtube video knitter)
created a print out pattern for the project too!
The pattern can be found under the video box, which will link you to it.

Christine's pattern works perfect too!
I made a mistake (myself) but will be able to cover it with
the flowers I crocheted, which a pattern
is also available
on her site, with the headband pattern.
iKnit's Blog Site
Has lots of other useful, fun tutorials
and patterns.
She really enjoys sharing her joy of knitting!

Book Review: Monsters

Recently I have started to
cross beyond my fear of knitting
more complex things
to becoming
obsessed with
wanting to knit creative, somewhat
complex projects!
This book, by Rebecca Danger,
 is not only
full of 'mischievous and lovable toys'
but such a motivator
to me!!!
Found over on the Knit Picks Site

It keeps reminding me to Knit!!!!
Love it!

Artist Appreciation

I was out shopping, a while back, and came
across this artist
who I really appreciated her style.

Very cheerful and whimsically youthful.

Sadly, she didn't have contact information
or website info, or I'd share it here, now.

First Day of Autumn

Fall begins today, Yay!
I love autumn!

Pumpkin Spice Lattes arrive!
Seasonal vegetables make a grand entrance
on many cooking shows.

The leaves start to change colours.

Brach candy dishes will start to empty faster now.

Cranberries will make a wonderful addition
to most warm and hearty meals
I hope and plan to make this season.

Celebrations are had by many...

Warm soup and salad will be eaten a great deal more
during the cooler months.

Halloween is growing closer...

Now there will be a fine selection of
apples at the markets
to make carmel apples with!
I love fall!!!
