October Colours

The days in October are always so richly colourful!

The task of raking and eventually picking up leaves...

The cooler days and gorgeous blue sky!

And oh, those trees and their lovely fall colourful leaves!

What a wonderful, colourful October it was!!!

Road Trip

I'm taking the scenic route, to visit my kids & grandson...

Virginia really is beautiful.
The country roads are peaceful
to travel by.
My two month old grandson greets me
upon my arrival.
It was my son's birthday this day!
Celebrating as we always have, at home
and together!
Awww the paintings I made for my grandson
are all hung up in his room!
Wee lad is tired from all the visiting.
He sleeps under his new blanket I
just finished making for him.

Time flies by too fast, time to say good-bye already!

Wee lad saying hallo to his new pal
that Mr. Nana gave him.

One last pose for pictures before I
head back home for Virginia.

Crossing the Potomac River

Homeward bound along tree
lined road is gorgeous this
beautiful fall day!

Tea Cozy Sorta Weekend

One tea cozy complete.

With cooler weather approaching, I've decided to make
several teapot cozies for the fall/winter.

I've decided to take scenic routes to my daughters house,
up in Maryland, from Virginia.
This is just one view from the 301.

Me and my wee Grandson!

Colder Days

I've started a few new teapot cozies.

This is the view of downtown Richmond, VA
as seen through my loft window.
With the change in season, the leaves will all drop from the
trees and the view will be clearer until springtime.

One draw back about putting out decorations early,
the treats vanish before the tricksters show up at the door!

With the weather turning cooler
I found tea time especially soothing.
Yes, this naked teapot needs a cozy!

My wee Grandson is sporting the hat & blanket I crocheted him
in addition to wearing his new outfit I just sent him.
Warm and cozy!

Doodle Attack

I Doodle attacked my tape dispenser!

I work on it in between doing my homework online!

I also Doodle in my desk journal, a lot!

Sometime I draw things that I'm thinking of (Paris)

Other times I draw silly things that make me laugh

Most usually I draw stuff with ME in them!

And very often I am inspired to write things that motivate me
to be a better person, daily!

Wish List

I've been busy these past two weeks.
Hand sewing, machine sewing and homework!

Started making various pin cushions for small gifts.

I joined local quilt guilds too.
One must have their name tag when attending guild meetings.

I finally hung up my art studio banner in the loft
(front view)

(back view)

I added a few more of my Mum's student
paintings on the wall. It's a nice comfort to see
something of her's since she passed.

This plaque/wooden picture was just too ugly for me to use.

So I sanded it...

Added a little Mod Podge...

Used this craft brush to evenly spread it around board...

And then applied this scrapbook paper to the board.
Then I used the brayer to smoosh out the bubbles.
I flipped it over on a flour sack towel, added my 5lb weights
and let it sit over night. Nice and smooth the next morning.
Ready for my next layer...

As of today, 6 October 2012, I have one month
until my 50th birthday!
NOW I need to start doing more.
This is just the first draft of my
WISH LIST:
Make new bucket list
Make more art
Write more letters
Write more thank you cards
Organize my children's keepsake chests
Sew more
Travel more
Write the book(s) I dreamed of
Teach more
Volunteer more
Love more
Dream more...
