March Meet the Makers: 9

How It's Made

1) Select fabric
2) Cut strip & sew together
3)Crochet...

Sewing fabric strips together to form a long ball of fabric yarn!

Crochet...

This is another rug I'm making for outdoor space.
I'm using left-over fabric from a previous costume project I sewed.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
Decided to decorate a little differently this year!

Adding silly items that have heartfelt meaning to me!

And you know I really do like this sort of silliness!

A cute reminder of
 March on Washington
January 2017
That I took part of!

A tree topper I drew, sawed out (from wood plank) painted from back in 1990's!
The wooden heart I made in 2012.

Little but full of love!!!

And to think I wasn't even going to pull out this little tree
this year!!!

Christmas Eve, crocheting while listening to
holiday music (loudly)
making a bunch of squares
for a blanket,
 for chemo patients
I'll be donating in January to local hospital.
I only made five square Christmas eve!
I have 15 more to make!!!

A Little Extra Crochet...just in case!

I found this cute doll for my grand daughter
however,
she had no panties!
So I crocheted her a yellow pair...

Then I realised she needed a pair of shorts
So I crocheted her a pair of lavender ones...

I then remembered that my daughter
told me
my grand daughter liked to
put her babies down for naps
so I crocheted a wee blanket and pillow...

I love how I simply intended to
send this wee dolly to my grand daughter
but quickly realised
I needed to
create a few
'extras'
just in case.

Holiday Greetings From Me to You

This Holiday Season has been busy for me.

Working with clients who are, at times, in a hurry or feeling a bit more of a Grinch

than is healthy has not damped my joyful spirit!

Santa visited us at work yesterday!

He was in board shorts and flip-flops despite if being 30 degrees outside!

I guess that's warm compared to the North Pole!

He was jolly and happy to find a little something special to get his lovely wife...Mrs. Santa ;)

At home I was finally able to hang-up my newly finished crocheted holiday stocking!

I'm feeling all 'girly' with the pink and gold glitter decoration this season.

Loving it!

Happy Holidays My Friends!

The metallic thread I used to crochet this stocking
really sparkles
when the light
hits it just right!

A closer look at the metallic thread!

A little seasonal silliness!
It just wouldn't be the holidays
without my naked troll doll
and my first two attempts
at crocheting Santa.

Wishing you a very joy filled holiday season!

My Summer 2015

So, here I post about moving
and taking time away from blogging only to up
and stop blogging again!!!
I had intended to start blogging.

Then something happened...

But before I tell you my story please enjoy
this picture
of a recent
crochet project
I just learned how to make.

A crochet rag rug!
Made from old sheets.

                                  Now on with my story...

I hopped into my car and decided to drive from
the east coast to the west coast.
This was on day one

of my solo travels
 June 2015.

I visited loved ones in the very hot desert!

104 really is too hot for me!

Thank goodness for refreshing pool
and air conditioning!

I crossed bridges in the rain on my way to and from that hot desert!

I drove during the day, at night and everything in between!

I borrowed a bit of nature on my journey.

Sunrises mesmerized me!

Sunsets calmed me.

The smell of the Pacific ocean made my heart jump for joy!

Seeing palm trees made me giggle!

And the smell of rain comforted my weary gypsy soul.

Some may wonder why I took this solo drive from
                                   one coast to the other...

This is why!

My second grand baby needed her Nana there before
she made her big debut!

And I made it just six days before her arrival!!

Happy Birthday little lady!

And this too!!

My first grand baby needed his Nana too.

Little man spent many hours nestled with Nana!

Once home I returned to crocheting!

Here are just a few items

Minion creations for Little Man
and other little fellows...

Minion creations for Little Lady
and other frilly, girlie stuff!

Crocheting for my grand babies
brings me so much joy!

Love!

Crocheted Pot Holder

Now this crocheted
hot pad would work
in my kitchen!

I'm far more gentle
with the pot holders!

Just Not Practical

I love these kitchen towels
in theory
but my kitchen towels get
abused far too often
to look this pretty!
I use 100% cotton flour sack towels
that can withstand regular bleaching.
These pretty towels would not last a month
in my kitchen, sadly.

Thread Crochet Project

Thread crochet project
that I just started...

for a friend!

Thread Crochet Thursday

I had started this project
some month ago
and became overwhelmed with it...

I used a steel crochet hook 1.15mm
for this project

And for the project on the right
I used a size steel hook 1.5mm
for a slightly larger version of
the same pattern

My favourite part of this work
is the center six point flower/star

All this work here has only used
chain, double and half-double crochet stitches.

but this pattern is tedious!

So, I gave up on this project a few months ago.

Magazine Therapy Monday

I liked both the necklace and the
crocheted worm
in Twinkie Chan's hair!

Oh I miss
Mother's frosted
animal cracker
sprinkle cookies!

These crocheted ones are so cute!
And the pattern can be found in
Mollie Makes DIY Fashion
just click here to visit Twinkie's blog page

Thinking of making this pretzel
for my mates backpack.
As he's a fan of salty pretzels!

Twinkie's crocheted creations are just so fun!
