http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/bright-hats-and-mitts-garland
As Fall weather settles in, I'm inspired to create many quick projects that will be put to use right away.
The garland above looks really cute and seasonal. However, my toes are cold...So,
slippers are on today's agenda. I would like to make several types too.
Here are just a few 'free' patterns I found while looking for quick, easy slippers:

I really like these, but I'm thinking of making a pair with a Christmas coloured theme. I'll use holly leaves with red berries.

Hope that you're keeping your feet and toes as warm as I will be!
Brrrrrrrr fall weather is upon us!
I'm loving it!
Cheers~

Found this tutorial really helpful. I want to make seasonal bunting for around the house.  Carina's Craftblog has some really fun posts and very nice patterns. :) Like the magic circle tutorial below...

Dachshund, Vintage Crochet and Pictures

My Dachshund.
Happy Columbus Day to all my American friends.

Even with three months passed since arriving here in Virginia, as of today actually.
I'm still finishing up the final stages of the unpack. All the boxes have been emptied, except
for two boxes filled with DVD's and 15 small book boxes of my mates. (I gave away ninety percent of my library prior to move).

It's the keepsake boxes that I've been organizing or more so, rooting through.
Having stumbled upon a box filled with my Mother's crochet work, I had to snap a few pictures of it!
Mum made hundreds of these. This one was perhaps the very last one  she made  before passing away. Her hands  ached and shook a bit, towards the end.

Mum's reliable potholders. She made hundreds of these too. These were made in the early 80's. They've held up very well!

Ah and Mum's favourite thing to make and give (even to strangers) as gifts. Crochet topped kitchen towels.  These were from my Mum's kitchen. Easily these were made in the 70's.

And then I found vintage hankies with my Nana's crochet handiwork.

I think I get my passion for miniature work from my Nana. I love crocheting with steelies, small size hooks. Using the cotton tread is a trick sometimes. I'm always in awe of the finished outcome.

Crochet, crochet and more crochet

Once again, I have been very busy making crocheted items for my kids, to sell and for swaps I'm participating in. I have come across some GREAT sites too (above picture and link)   I just wanted to share a few pictures of my WIP, some finished projects, a few of these great sites, enjoy!

Made this beanie for my son, who will arrive here in VA in six days, to celebrate his 21 birthday. He loves football, so I thought, though it be a wee bit silly, would be a fun beanie for him to wear while visiting his sister in Maryland too. Have one more to make for my daughters boyfriend, that way both fellows will have their game day beanies. I still need to make pom poms with favourite team colours, to attach on top before gifting. It starts with just one leaf...

And fall has begun...
The cool weather inspires me to create baked goods.
I've been busy crocheting too...
Cold enough to have fire and relax in front of it!
