Beanie Instructions Part 2 of 3

Having continued to next round (6) and worked all the way to final sc round (11)
this is what the hat looks like so far.
Please refer to pattern below for rnds 6-11

Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat 6 times =36 sc
Rnd 7: Ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat 6 times = 42 sc.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat 6 times = 48 sc.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat 6 times = 54 sc.
Rnd10:Ch 1, sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat 6 times = 60 sc.
Rnd11:Ch 1, sc in next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat 6 times = 66 sc.

Rnd 12: Ch 2 (this counts as hdc), had in same st, hdc in next 32 std, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each st around =68 sts, slip stitch in first hdc.

Work in continuous rnds in hdc until hat measures 3 1/2 ".

Final rounds: Work 2 rnds in sc, slip st to first st to join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
If you choose to add a different colour for these last two rounds, simply add your choice of yarn and follow final round instructions.

This is what my first round of half double crochet looks like
next to the previous rounds of single crochet.

I'm at the end of my first round of half double crochet
(remember to keep this stitch marker here for the remainder of
the project.
You will be measuring your work from this marker.

Join first round of half double crochet with a slip stitch.
Remember, don't remove or shift the stitch marker
from this point on.
Keep it here to anchor measuring for
the 3 1/2 inches of hdc work.

Work in continuous rounds in hdc until Hat measures 3 1/2"

I've worked a few rows of hdc, measuring up to 1 inch so far.
I will stop here, for now
and continue tomorrow
to completion.
