I'm Moving...again!

As of 1 April I'll be calling this home sweet home...
the only 'small' space here is the narrow galley kitchen, but with all the windows
I'll not notice it's size. :)
Silly mail art for my daughter.
She is pregnant and we're planning an 'under the sea' baby shower...
Even in my doodles I'm thinking 'under the sea'.
Glorious Spring has Sprung!
Happy Spring!!

Sneak Peak...

I'm busily working on my art room.
I have decided to organize it with a dash of 'spring clean' on the side.
Having only moved, less than a year ago, I managed to get rid of
many, many, many things.
Surprisingly, I still have a good amount of art/craft supplies remaining.
My favourites...
coloured pencils, water soluble crayons & pencils,
markers, paints, paper, material, felts, jewelry fixings,
 and
yarn/wool with all the tools to use it.

I love these markers. So colourful and lovely to use on many surfaces!
Magic wand would be helpful, especially while sorting through all
the scrapbooking papers and supplies!!
Sneak Peak over...next post will have all the new photos of art room!!

Art Room Make Over: Part One

My Art room has been one big huge mess, right from the start!

I have struggled with limited space and function.

I really love my Ikea book shelf though.

Not enough shelving and containers to house everything I  own.

Several of my Mum's paintings and a couple of mine on the wall.

New cabinets! Yay! Now I can organize all my supplies!

My Art Table

View from my window isn't grand, but during sunny days, I appreciate the natural light!
It Cracks me up, I've not changed my calendar yet...even though it's already February!
I like having most of my supplies close to me while creating.

Colourful mix

My usage of
lime green, sky blue and pink really
enhance "spring fever" in my drawings.
Funny how the various seasons influence my
choice in colour pallet.

My favourite medium of late; watercolour pencils.
Along with my extremely fine line perm markers.

Acco brand pencils (made in UK) are so wonderful. I couple them with
Staedtler pencil (made in Germany).

On a whim, I bought discounted markers from a local
art/crafts store. They were so marked down, I just
thought I could trash them if need be.
However, I have found these Martha Stewart brand
markers to be GREAT! With their .1mm tips, I love the
very fine line I am able to make.
I do have several Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph pens,
which have an array to nibs/tips I love.
But for the easy carefree use, these Martha Stewart
writing pens are delightful!

Well I'm off for now. To create more and enjoy this lovely holiday weekend.
Cheers~

Wee Blue Bird Inspiration...

Having finally found the parcels mailed to many moons ago AND
unexpectedly seeing the wee flirty blue bird upon leaving work (see previous post).
I've been inspired and motivated!

Life changes, losses and unexpected events can turn
a person inside out!
Happily, once the shock of this has subsided life resumes
a natural progression, happily.

Creative path...

Well, keeping true to one of my resolutions: I've cleaned my art table off. Rooted out unused clutter around the floor of my table. Begun a new art project. I drew this one picture after being inspired by James C. Christensen's pen and ink illustrations.
I'm planning on using a black ink to set the image and coloured inks in a wash finish.
I've managed to draw a great deal in my sketch book also, however, this image just keeps coming back to me. So, I'll hopefully finish it sometime in the next week or so. Well that is, if I can stop crocheting...yes, I've been extremely busy crocheting bowls and scarves, in addition to making jewelry (bracelets). And if that isn't enough, I've also started knitting slippers! So, I think I'm keeping true to my one resolution, regarding being more creative! Only if there were more hours in a day!
