Something new for September!

One more creative challenge!
I've decided to start this art challenge for September http://www.tracibunkers.com/blog/2011/08/another-30-days-of-get-your-art-on.html
After reading about it over on ravenscauldron's blog here; http://ravenscauldron.blogspot.com/
So between crocheting a summer granny square everyday. Pattern tutorial found here: http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/summer-garden-granny-square.html
AND taking a photo a day, and uploading it here: http://365project.org/bairbreaine/365
I wanted to do a challenge that would get me painting/drawing and creating mixed media art again!
Looking forward to the next 30 days.
Gotta run now, so much creating to get done! ;)

Old School Crafing Fun

Many of us Crafty Folks have at least ONCE in our lives used these classic weaver looms and loops.

Over the many years I have worked with children,
taught and even raised my own two kids who are now adults.  These weaving looms and loops have always had a place within my crafting supplies.

Sadly, most recently since I am no longer teaching, I realised it had been awhile since they had been used though. So I packed up the half dozen or so looms and loops I had and donated them to a local Brownie Troop.
However, I just couldn't help myself, I had to keep one set for me!  And why not? These wee potholders and coaster are great useful items! I've (in the past) made dozens of them, sewn them together and used them as a table pad/guard. And I've used them as place mats. For now, I am just having fun weaving while I watch television. :)

Another lost sock...

This time I asked my students what I should make.
They ALL voted for a bunny.

Scroll down about 3 posts below, to see my wee sock pal, with the big nose, when he was first made.
He was my very first sock creation...I love making these wee pals. :)

Crocheted bunnies and friends...

now where did we leave off?
Oh yes, baby bunnies!

But as you know, when there is more than one bunny around...

They multiply...

Now what shall I do with all these wee darlings?
I'll make them into spring time brooches!

Ohhhhh, I really do like making the thread bunnies too.

My next post will be a tutorial on creating the various crocheted bunnies.

Hop over again, for wee peek, won't you?
