Countdown to Christmas with Elf...

Elf was trying to help...

but got tangled up
in the lights...

"I wonder how long I'll have to hang here"
Elf thought...

"ok real funny everyone,
I can see you walking around
the loft…hey someone help me down!
Ohhh come on!
I'm not having anymore fun now…anyone?"

Happy Holidays everyone
from us
and the tangled

A Cold & Sunny Winter's Day

Natasha having a relaxing sun bath on the roof top patio

Yes, I made this silly hat and I like it so much
I wear it!

Natasha doesn't like wearing her sweater...

She likes to sun naked!
'gosh human, I'm NOT naked, I'm wearing fur!'

Quick Crochet Project

Christmas Countdown

I'm making a few 'quick' pairs of finger-less gloves.

A really simple pattern using
only chain, single and double crochet stitches.

For my small hand I chain about 9 inches,
then I make a few rows of single crochet,
then I crochet two rows of double and
then back to single.
Once I am near the fullness I like,
I finish with two rows of single crochet,
and bind off with a long tail of yarn
for sewing the side seam up.
Remembering to leave a hole for
my thumb while stitching.

My latest read.

My latest painting project.

Warm Food

Christmas Countdown

I made a Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder the other day,
to warm me up and season the loft with
warm luscious scents.

Normally I'll top it with Avocado, flour chips and fresh cilantro/coriander
but my poor plant died a week ago :(
and there were not chips or Avo left.
 So I topped with
sour cream and taco flavoured
Doritios chips crushed.
It was pretty tasty.

For recipe:

1 TBLS Butter or Margarine
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked and chopped
(I also use the boneless/skinless strips from trader joe's,
It works really easy)
I either boil my chicken, or
microwave in a ceramic dish, with lid
drizzled with olive oil
dash salt/dash pepper
1 small onion, chopped. I omit this because I
cannot eat onion.
2 garlic cloves, pressed
2 cups half-and-half
2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese
2 (14 3/4 oz) cans cream style corn
1 (4.5 oz) can chopped green chilies, undrained
1/2 teas. Hot sauce
1/4 salt
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro or 1-2 teaspoon dried cilantro.

Melt butter in dutch oven over medium high heat:
add onion and garlic and saute 2 minutes. Stir in next 7 ingredients and
chicken; cook over low heart, stirring often, 15 minutes. Stir in Cilantro.

Makes 2 quarts

Happy crafting and cooking
Cheers~

Ho Ho Ho

Christmas Countdown
Hallo Friends, I was finally able to put
the extra holiday
decorations away this weekend.
Stockings are hung, with care.

Holiday dishes at the ready.
Just need to finish decorating my
pillar candle with
real candy canes
then I'll place it here on
this candle stand.

 I've only received one
holiday card so far,
shown here, of my Grandson,
who was born just four months ago!

All my holiday bric-a-brac
remind me of people
and certain times within
my life.
This beaded Joy pin
was made and given to me
by a good friend of mine.
The felt holly leaves I
made nearly twenty years ago,
while my two children were very small.

Santa with Cow I made nearly six-teen years ago.

I enjoyed decorating with
three different colour schemes.
This side of room has more blue and silver,
than the previous traditional red and green
'Santa' colours.

One big stocking for the Dachshunds.

I use tree ornaments to dress up
vase and cabinet
with this a touch of shine and theme.
Pictures always bring loved ones
closer to mind,
during the holidays.
Especially if they live far away, as
many of mine do.

Pictured here are me and my three sisters,
several years ago.

Birdies

Hi friends,
I'm determined to get all crafts
and gifts made before Christmas
and it's approaching quickly.
How bout you?
Are you nearly done?

I finished another batch of Birdies.
I will be loading pictures to my Etsy store
sometime later today...

Earlier in the week I had finished this batch of birdies.

So far all Birdies that I've completed this week.
