Where Do They Get That From?

At a young age I learned that laughter promoted good health!

Later in my late teens,
I lost my father.

Quickly,
I adopted a healthier life style that involved
good eating, aerobic exercises, yoga, meditation
AND...

Silliness!

Lots of it!

I'm happy that not only did this make me happy,
but others as well.

Influencing my own two kids.

My kids on Mother's Day several years back.
I simply wished for a nice picture of all three of us.
Instead I got the BEST pictures/selfies EVER...
I remember saying
"oh please smile you two"

And I just decided to join in!

I LOVE THESE PICTURES
And Memories!

As i'm getting older
I look back at these moments
and find such joy in remembering just how
blissful our days were
filled with laughter and so much love!

And now,

as a
 Grandmother

My children are happy adults and embrace silliness.

BUT
The one thing
(well two actually)
things that make my heart sore...
knowing (and seeing)
this silliness legacy
passed along to my grandkids!!

And even when apps aren't used, there is silliness!!!

My grand son sporting a nice stash and beard!

My grandson in the 'infant'
stage of
stash and beard!

My grand daughter
I love that she (my daughter)
uses these silly apps with funny faces..

and wondered why
they went in the first place...

And of course
for the knit addicts...

The Unexpected

Unexpected distraction
kept me away from blogging...

The previous situation
is undergoing a wee bit
of construction presently.
Will hopefully return tomorrow...

Talk Like A Pirate Day

Ahoy Matey's
Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day...
and while this is a delightfully fun event,
we decided to dress like pirates in celebration
of not just 'talk like a pirate day'
but because...

at our local Krispy Kreme store was giving away donuts!
Anyone who came in dressed like a pirate
received a dozen donuts for free!

My matey seems to be enjoying his golden treasure!

Arrrrggghhhhh, keep yer hands off my tasty bounty!

YUM!

End of Month Celebration

Heres to a happy end of July.
Hopefully August will be cooler
and less wet.
August brings new challenges
with a little of the
unexpected.

Just Because...

This is Hamish Clark,
he's a Scottish actor on the BBC series
Monarch of the Glen
which ran from 2000-2005.

Hamish as the character:
 Duncan McKay,
a wee bit confused/daft, kind-hearted
assistant ghillie.
Yummy!

Flustered

Ever have 'one of those days'?
What keeps me from
strangling even the cutest
of cutes
is my in ability
to stay focused on
one thing too long...
now where did I put my glass
of ice tea...
oh that colour yarn would look
great on the stool seat
I'm crocheting...
what was I saying before?

Odd Doll in Cup

Every time I go to the local
quilt shop, I see this
doll...

and I think,
she looks easy to construct...

I go off thinking that
I should make one myself...

so I make a mental note to do so...

but somehow I am always
distracted with so many other
things to do instead...

Happily, I'm distracted mind you,
however...

this really is just a silly doll in a cup
and I must make one...

someday!
