A Cute Recycled Crochet Project

Cute recycled containers

This is just too cute!
I found these cute crochet creations
over at
filth wizardry blog

This was my rendition of this cute project.

I punched whole in juice jug...

I cleaned off the residue 'sticky bits'
with goo gone...

picked out a cute colour from my stash of acrylic yarn bits...

I used a single crochet around the top of juice jug...

for the second round I continued with single crochet...

for the third round
I used a double crochet stitch and then chained a
good length that would work
for this wee project...

I attached chain to the other side,
tied off
and woven in loose ends.

Recycled Table

I found this table tray for fifty cents!
However, it needs a little bit of
TLC.

All done, now it needs to sit for a few hours
to dry.

After table dries, then I need to sand it!

My box of wood putty and glue goodies!

Recycle, Reuse, Ephemeral Art

Cutting up cardboard boxes today...

I love using this weight of box for templates
and other 'thin' cardboard projects
like the covers for small art journals.

I recycle various cardboard and styrofoam
packing materials as well.
So many art projects will be made
from all of this.

I'd much rather recycle, create art
or functional use of materials
instead of filling up landfill space!!

Ephemeral art projects get their start here,
from within my recycled stash...

Sewing Club Day

This morning was my sewing club meeting
where I learned more new things
and shared some of the projects I've worked on
from the book Everyday Handmade.
See previous post for more detailed pics.

Once back home from sew club,
I decided to start on
an overly due project
for my garden herbs.

I had six very ugly
hand painted terra cotta pots that needed a
radical face lift...

So I primed them...

and it started to rain,
so I'll finish them soon,
on the next sunny day!
Until then...

I found new library books
to keep my occupied!
